Our summer series continues today with a fishy recipe for Fido. Part 4 of our Foods to Cool your Canine series – Fetching Fish Sticks. This recipe uses 3 cooling ingredients: white fish, cauliflower, and flax seed. They can be served frozen or lightly baked.
We begin this recipe with the following ingredients:
1 lb. white fish
1 cup cauliflower
2-3 tbsp. ground flax seed
Place the fish and cauliflower in your food processor and puree until smooth. Spoon into mold or container you’d like to use to either freeze or bake the fish sticks. If you want to freeze, sprinkle the flax seed on top simply place in your freezer. To serve, thawed as you’d like.
If you’d like to lightly bake, place them in a 350 degree oven for about 10-15 minutes. Allow to cool. Put the flax seed on a plate and roll the fish stick into it until covered. Serve.
