This week, we want to share some easy recipes you can make based on these treats. Let’s dive right in.
The Fourth treat is Wedding Meat Cakes. This treat is based on the wedding cake they have chosen for their big day – lemon cake with elderberries. We substituted strawberries and used yellow peppers for our yellow coloring. Their cake is being made by a former Californian baker now living in London. Our shared recipe uses just 4 ingredients – Ground chicken, yellow pepper, strawberries, and an egg. The great part about this recipe is its versatility - you can serve it to your dog raw or baked.
We add the yellow pepper and egg to our food processor. (Can you spot the egg? It blends in!)
Puree them until smooth.
Add the ground chicken.
Add strawberries to your food processor as we’re going to create a berry puree to swirl in our batter.
Puree is ready!
Added to batter and ready for the swirl. Use just half of the strawberry puree for this step. Hold the balance for the last step. Using a large spoon, gently stir the berries into the batter.
Now the “batter” is ready for freezing or baking. We made meat cakes patties today so your pup can can have his own little cake. You can freeze at this point or bake. Our example for this recipe will be baked.
Bake for 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees. Allow to cool.
Top with the remaining puree.
Ready to serve.
These Wedding Meat Cakes are a perfect meal replacement for your pup or a snack for your larger dog.
